Heritage

The Art of Chikankari

A 400-year-old tradition. A thousand hands. One love.

Artisan hand-stitching Chikankari in golden light

The Stitch

Six hours. One motif. A lifetime of skill.

From the mughal courts of the 17th century to the lanes of present-day Lucknow, Chikankari has remained almost unchanged — because it cannot be rushed. There are over 32 traditional stitches; a master karigar may only know a dozen well, having spent their whole life learning them.

What you receive is not a garment. It is a quiet inheritance.

The Process

From Cotton to Canvas

  1. 01

    Fabric Selection

We source only the finest cotton, mul mul, and georgette.

  2. 02

    Block Printing

Designs are first printed using hand-carved wooden blocks.

  3. 03

    Hand Embroidery

Skilled artisans hand-stitch each motif with fine needle and thread.

  4. 04

    Washing

The fabric is hand-washed to reveal the embroidery beneath.

  5. 05

    Tailoring

Garments are cut and tailored to our fit specifications.

  6. 06

    Quality Check

Every piece is inspected before it reaches you.
